Cox Cattle
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
-
How do I make a purchase inquiry? For all cattle and produce sales, please contact Ryan Cox by phone or text @ 205-351-1415
-
When is freezer beef available?Freezer BEEF is available seasonally. It takes 90-120 days on feed for our calves to become finished, top quality BEEF. Please contact us for booking dates and processing information on half and whole BEEF.
-
How is your beef finished? Our beef is all grass fed and grain finished. The cattle are never confined to a "lot" but have access to quality pasture year round. The grain ration they receive is a soyhull/cracked corn blend, formulated by a LOCAL Alabama feed mill. All cattle are fed for a minimum of 90 days to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
-
What quantities are beef purchases available in?We offer half and whole bulk buying options for our FARM FRESH beef. In addition to the bulk sales, we are now offering BEEF boxes for those customers who don't want to tie up an entire freezer with beef. The beef boxes are generally a mixture of cuts and are tier priced based on what the box contains.
-
What are your beef prices?Currently our bulk beef price is $4.25/lb of hot hanging weight. This weight is sent to us by our processor after is has been cleaned and inedible parts have been removed. The average price for a half beef is around $1500. This will fluctuate depending upon the animal. The beef boxes will vary from $100-$200 per box depending on the boxes contents.
-
Where do I pick up my beef?Bulk beef is picked up directly from the processor. It is YOUR responsibility to pick up beef, unless other arrangements have been made. We use processors 1-2 hours from Clanton. Boxed beef can be picked up in Thorsby, Clanton, or one of several Farmers Markets we attend throughout the summer. Please contact us prior to market days if you plan on picking up there.
-
Can I visit Cox Cattle and Produce?ABSOLUTELY! We encourage visitors, however an appointment must be made in advance. Contact Ryan for appointment times.
